This past May, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) joined forces with the National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association (NFCPA) to help promote May 12th Fibromyalgia Awareness day through the Together Walks Program helping raise over $10,000. This partnership stems from the ever-expanding treatment methods discovered through professional Chiropractic care. F4CP recently interviewed NFCPA founder Jan Chambers regarding her experience with fibromyalgia treatment through chiropractic care.
“Fibromyalgia impacts more than 10 million Americans,” says Chambers, who shares her own experience with chronic pain. “I started seeing a chiropractor who provided a thorough examination, ordered x-rays and then explained to me what was going on. He then created a very rigorous program to address the problems in my neck and lower back. Years later, I still do therapy at home, but it is the chiropractic care that was my lifesaver. I feel like chiropractic care literally saved my life.”
Chambers experience with chiropractic care is not unique. More and more fibromyalgia patients are slowly relying upon chiropractors as their initial source for long term treatment.
